Amorim looks punch drunk. First-half should’ve been a landslide. 5 defeats in 6, how long before they bring back Giggsy or Ole Gunnar, to “help him”. Sword of Damacles will have his head once the Scousers put 5 past them.

It’s beyond a storm. With FFP, there’ll be little investment without departures, who’s mad enough to sign the likes of Ajax and Sons? Difficult times ahead. Very.

Off with his head. Bring back our Moyesy!

The Manchester Evening News described the current Manchester United team as the worst United team for 50 years. That is about right as United's last relegation was 50 years ago. This is the first time that the club has lost 5 league games on a calendar month in 62 years, the first time it has lost 3 consecutive home games in 45 years, and this is the club's lowest league position at this stage of the season for 35 years.

Licha Martinez had the worst game I have ever seen him play for United. Poor Zirkzee was cheered once throughout the entire match (when he was substituted in the first half after only 30 minutes or so). It was United fans' loudest cheer of the night.

The players are terrible. They need to start afresh. Get rid of all of them especially Bruno, That overrated Danish butter cookie Rasmund Fake Halland and the Fat overweight useless goalkeeper Onana. Who is Onana's agent. If Nwabali had his agent he will be keeping for Real Madrid. :curse: :curse: :curse: :veryangry:

Pokey, if he had lost to Ipswich Town, I would have agreed with you that he should be fired immediately.

So far, Amorim has had less than five full training sessions with the squad. He will be here and will be in charge of Man United next season.

United represent a festival of foolery. Having decided the fate of their then manager on a toss of coin in a meeting of Old Trafford’s top brass and big wigs, they indulged his wildest fantasies days later. Zirkee, De Ligt, Ugarte, to add to the squander of seasons prior.

When last did United make a signing that was suited to the EPL? Onana, wild and reckless. Martinez a midget at centre-half. Anthony a performing donkey. The list is endless. And now the Amorim conundrum, do they believe in him enough to indulge his necessities? Bear in mind few are playing 3 at the back. If he fails, it’ll be another collection of players suited for a particular style, likely to be a burden for the after-comer.

Add to that FFP, the existential Hadrian’s wall, keeping the plebs out. They’ll need to sell to buy and most would be mad to purchase.

Playing Casemiro and Eriksen in central midfield against Newcastle’s aggressive, fit, mobile, and powerful midfield trio of Guimares, Joelinton, and Tonali was one of the worst tactical decisions I have seen from a manager. United’s midfield duo had a combined age of 64, are immobile and slow, and one of them has a pacemaker. To play Casemiro and Eriksen in midfield and leave them outnumbered against Newcastle’s rapid midfield trio (all of whom are strapping 6 feet tall lads in their 20s) was footballing suicide.

In the pantheon of bad footballing ideas it was as bad as Ferguson’s decision to play Carrick and a near 40yo Giggs in central midfield against prime Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets in a Champions League final.

In Ole’s last match 3 years ago United’s lineup was:

De Gea
AWB-Lindelof-Maguire-Shaw
McTominay-Matic
Bruno
Sancho-Ronaldo-Rashford

Going further back, Jose’s final lineup as United manager 6 years ago was:

De Gea
Darmian-Smalling-Lindelof-Dalot-Young
Herrera-Matic
Lingard-Lukaku-Rashford

United have spent about 500 million on new players since then, and have somehow made the team worse. Of the players currently at the club, Bruno Fernandes and Mainoo are probably the only players who are good enough to get into Ole’s or Jose’s teams.

^if they’ve any sense, they’ll cash in on Fernandes whilst he still has market value. Another season and they’re stuck. There’s next to nothing worth keeping at United, perhaps the steak and kidney pies in the canteen.

Bruno, plus Mainoo, Garnacho, and Yoro are long term prospects.

Bruno will be on the decline. If United don’t cash in this summer, they’ll strap themselves in for diminishing returns.

Media being stereotypically disingenuous with Johnny Foreigner’s misplacement of words. Sadly for Amorim, with Gareth Southgate, Graham Potter and various other “top” English managers overlooked, he’s a marked man.

...towards the end of last season they were talking about offloading those guys, and were playing their farewell matches. So what happened?

Another indicator of how far Manchester United has fallen and how bad of a goalkeeper Andre Onana is: in the last game against Newcastle Kieran Trippier tried on two different occasions to school directly from a corner kick. 🤦🏽‍♂️

United is absolutely weak on corners and set pieces because their GK is dodgy and the team has very few really tall players. With that set up the club decided it was a good idea to sell the only 6 foot 4 inch tall box to box goalscoring midfielder in the Premier League.

You guys should leave Amorim alone. I don’t even think he knows the location of all the toilets in the club house. The man just got there. He told management he would like to start next season and they rejected it. The culture in that club house needs to be scrubbed clean. Too
Many players making big money and putting little effort, too much pressure from the fans.
I think battling relegation might help them next year.

It's funny during set piece you see a shorty player like Martinez defending a very tall opponent, then a tall striker like Hojlund just pushing and holding instead of defending. The overall comedy makes Onana act like flip fly when the ball comes.
Maybe Amorin should import all his former Portuguese players
