He took Mali to the semi finals of the last AFCON where they narrowly lost to a rejuvenated Ivorian host team (eventual winners) in a very exciting match...I remember Mali playing some very exciting football as well under him. Do I think he's the right man for the Eagles team? Tbh I'd have preferred Antonio Conceicao cause he seemed more experienced but with all things considered, Eric Chelle is the best right now we could have bargained for. There aren't many exciting/experienced coaches out there left that comes to mind. I would have liked Aliou Cisse but it seems he isn't in the spotlight for any coaching interest...the likes of Labbadia etc have never coached in Africa before. Eric Chelle is also not "foreign" since he's African right?

Welcome Eric Chelle, I have clamoured for him to be appointed before Finidi was appointed. He might not particularly be the top choice for so many folks, but we can't deny that his Mali team played some good football at the AFCON and if he can bring same with some level of organization and discipline, many Nigerians will grow into liking his brand of football. I wish him the very best. Allez Nigeria🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

Match throwback of his Mali team vs Ivory Coast at the last AFCON semi finals, I think he gave Ivory Coast a more serious test than we did against CIV both in the group stage and finals.

We’re not in a beauty contest anymore. How good is he at game management, substitutions, making the right in game decisions and man management. Thats what we need. Lots of teams play a beautiful game but they still lose.

My thoughts exactly.
Under the circumumstance and given this point in time. This appears to be the best solution to stem the trajectory of not making the WOrldCUP. A small flame of hope for the careers of this generation of players to make the Mundial.
However this does not mean we will still make it.
However instead of throwing up our hands and saying " fait accompli "
NFA has thrown our chances a life line a Holy Mary.

I can’t remember the last time I was happy with NFF’s SE coach appointment.

The guy has a tough job on his hands. No friendlies and just a few days with the boys before crucial World Cup qualifiers. Good help us.

He took Mali to the quarters not semis.

Yes the team played well at afcon, but after afcon the team started playing poorly and their WC chances are now in shambles because of Chelle.

They fired him and now Mali has started to play well again.

Not sure this is a good choice. Our NFF are corrupt fools.

Eric Chelle was the Mali manager when they beat Finidi’s SE 2-0 in a friendly in Marrakesh in March 2024
I am happy

Good luck to him. His team played well during the AFCON. In particular, they beat South Africa silly. I wish him the best

I was but after reading about his tactical tendencies I’m happy with the selection. He’s better than any Nigerian we could’ve selected and he’s hungry for success,,he needs to win as much as we do. He’s a 433/4321 coach that values the MF on both ends. He also was a defender and well known for his leadership qualities. Imho, he’ll make the biggest difference to our MF in possession and when in transition. I just hope he has his own assistants and doesn’t get saddled with the likes of Salisu and co. He’ll need a highly competent non corrupt staff.

We all to support him at this point.

I think it's good, that he resumes next month taking charge of the CHAN team for their tournament. Rather sad, those who qualified were not given the opportunity to led the team.

make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."
