FFS they could not even raise their game to honour club legend Denis Law. United teams usually raise their game and win the next match after a club legend dies (e.g. Sir Matt Busby, George Best, Cathy Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton etc). This lot could not even do that.

Too much change at a time when United cried for stability. Most of their wins have been fortuitous, down to individual brilliance more than anything else. At what point does one concede repeating the same sequence and expecting a change in fortunes is the stuff of fantasy, fiction or madness. Rangnick would have had more points. For all his faults, Rangnick had a good eye for talented players. Look at the players he advised United to buy (United ignored all of his recommendations) and where they are today: Haaland, Gvardiol, Laimer, Julian Alvarez. All of them are box office.

They should have promoted him upstairs as originally planned. I doubt the 85 million for Antony, 60 million for Mount, 75 million for Hojlund, and 60 million for Casemiro transfers would have happened under his watch.

I have a general question, which is not prompted by this latest swap deal of Alexis Sanchez and continually changing possibly wrong wage figures quoted by some media.

Is it sustainable for a club like United to keep making big money buys and mostly overpaying for players who are not the best, especially when they come with very high wages, i understand that United is raking in the big money as a business, but surely some of the money has to be kept aside for a rainy day, and especially for that astronomical debt, i am not a finance guru, but is there any chance of that debt becoming a very serious problem in future, or are chances higher that it will be paid off.

Don't worry about United. They will keep making BIG money, and they understand that you use money to make more money. If they start looking for cheap bargain players like Arsenal does, it will negatively affect their brand. Teams that are rich and used to spending money typically become used to identifying and buying quality, and will, more often than not, buy wisely. Cheap teams even when they get windfall, will go and overpay for average players, in the name of spending money. Man U may be spending big, and may not always get it right, but it is clear they go for players with a purpose, and usually those who can immediately impact them.
People came here to complain when Man U splashed on De Gea and Bailly.... Even though I am not a Man U fan, one can't help but admire the gangster attitude of signing the likes of Rooney and Fellaini from Everton, Tevez from West Ham, Berbatov from Tottenham, RvP and now Sanchez from Arsenal. Each of those players came and WON something. Now, they also have Mata, Matic and Lukaku from other EPL teams.

Signing sanchez meaning, we open up a new frontier in south america, Chile first united player, see where i am getting at, a whole new fan base, united has to be seen to sign the best players in the world, thats why we are a global brand and as someone said, you use money to make money, hopefully sanchez will have a immediate impact in our frontline, there are still a lot of games to be played, champions league, we need a strong squad, we need to finish in the top 4 this season, TV money has increased in recent years, a good run in the champions league will bring in increased revenues, football is big business these days

But is there any chance that the football bubble may burst for whatever reason. Or the monies will keep pouring in to a point where the top players are getting 5 million per week or even more.

And what will that translate into? People refusing to play football, or fans refusing to watch?
