I only wish the NFF had given offers to Chelle right after the CAF finals last yr instead of going back and forth on the coaching issues.
Right now Chelle's record is3 wins, 2 draws and it could have easily been 4 wins, 1 draw.
Also with the way the SE held a very good Russia team in check, I think is it suffice to say, had it been Equavoen at the helm
Russia woulda given us atleas 3-0, considering the fact that the last 4 to 5 games, Russia had won them soundly and convingly.

I also tend to like Maduka over Nwabali but the jury is still out on that one. Nonetheless Maduka is considerably younger than Nwabali and hopefully will take over the helm after him.

you insult Chelle by placing him in the same sentence with Eguavoen.
Tomorrow someone would probably make Osayi Samuel coach and expect him to be a good one.

Had it been? Nobody knows what would have happened.

The only good thing I see with Chelle is that he is trying new things with his formations and it is making us more compact. But we are not defending very well. It could be the personnel and he is also leaving us exposed on the right hand side with no natural RW/RM. He is instructing his wide players to tuck in, giving the opposition overlapping full back a lot of space.

The NFF are genetically, congenitally and hereditarily bad at coach selection BUT i think they might have gotten it

I hope you know the results of games does not go as you analyzed, or think it would have.

He's alright, one major positive about him is that he has shown the willingness to try new ideas (formations and systems) and seems to impact his coaching philosophy around the midfield. He needs to really improve on his defensive issues especially that right side...personally I'm tired of the chop and change habit of changing managers, let's just stick with Chelle and allow him build his team more regardless of the world cup situation. There aren't any "world class" coaches out there that will come in and suddenly change the fortune of the SE.

We should have to phase out some players in that team and start bedding in new generations.

good point, I think the best solution is to ensure the CAM now switch to the right side when we defend, this way we defend in a 442
