I dont know if its because they are in the middle of their season, but so far, the Brazilian clubs have shown up very well. They do not look out of place.

I feel like I am missing out not following that league. I didnt think they were this strong.

And how possible is it that their clubs have these performances and their national team is so robotic? I guess their national team players are Euro-centric. And thats where the robotics comes from. What do you think?

It looks so, but their end product so far has not been encouraging. Let us see them finish spectacularly like the Brazilians of old. This looks like the kind of game where Guirassy or Adeyemi will get one chance, and they will score and game ova. Na so dis yoroyoro European teams dey play.

Ever since Brazil were spanked 7-1 at home by Germany, their Euro worship(which is normally very high in all aspects of their society but not so much in football) has gone off the charts. It has now completely bled into their football. Imagine a whole Brazil hiring Carlo Ancelotti, a non-Brazilian, as coach of the Selecao!

There is context here too. Brazil has not beaten a European team in the knockout stages of the World Cup since June 2002, over 20 years ago! So there you have it. They don't think their style is good enough anymore against the European big boys.

@Africanus, fitness and functionality has replaced the twisting, turning, dancing, dribbling Juego Bonita. As far as freestyle football and FIFA Street are concerned, no one can lay a glove on the Brazilian dance troupes. Stick them in a World Cup against any decent European opposition and it’ll be like the boats of Vasco de Gama have docked once more. Pummelled, pillaged and ravaged red raw.

They’ve appointed Ancelotti in desperate attempt to do what their Brazilian coaches have failed to with aplomb. They would be wise to add Arrigo Sacchi to their ranks and bring back Kaka. Nonsense.

Funny you mention Arrigo Sacchi. Brazil won the 1994 World Cup playing like classical Italy while being managed by Carlos Alberto Parreira, a Portuguese-speaking Arrigo Sacchi.

Their 2002 team was an EA Sports FIFA Playstation team. Unstoppable. Even our very own txj could have managed them to World Cup glory
