Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Greenwood is one player, Man United is an institution. There will be many, many more Mason Greenwoods. With multinationals waiting with bated breath to pull out, the issue was much bigger than the “normal for now” that it was in the eyes of the dot com. In a world awash with issues of female insecurity and gender-based violence, Greenwood conforming to certain stereotypes and United’s full support, threatened their image.
Ratcliffe et al have made billions making shrewd decisions, one would imagine, the pros and cons, gains and losses were weighed up.
Greenwood can tear up all the daisies in the farmer’s field, sadly, he’s sullied his name through an act of absolute stupidity. United keeping a wide berth, does more for the organisation than his inclusion would do for their frontline.
The very best of luck to him. A quite spectacular fall from grace. Irrespective of what he goes on to achieve, he’ll be the example, the story told to many a young black rising star. Be wise at all times, even more so at that point in time.
Good luck to the lad, hopefully he’s acquired the wisdom to acknowledge his fortune. Many have done far less and lost it all.

After cleared charges, club conducting their own investigation and concluded he didn't commit the original offense. PR disaster not football/club disaster. Look at how Arsenal handled Partey who has also been accused of rape. United allowed it to fester and that was the problem. Had they allowed him to continue to play UNTIL a guilty verdict and took a strong stance to protect the 19 year old child, the media wouldnt have had the opportunity to sow discord.
P,s-- slightly unrelated, but isnt it cute how the media didnt care that Maguire went to Greece to attack a police man, but are hell bent on making sure a 19 year old black boy never makes a living ever again. Hell! Boris Johnson lied and fabricated a story when he was a journalist. And they voted him in as Prime Minister. b45t4rds!

Lets not move this from one thread to another. The lack of strong leadership at the club is what's caused this hullabaloo. But given he hasn't played in Holland, Ten Hag may have thought he's worthless.Coach wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:24 pm Greenwood is one player, Man United is an institution. The posts by his girlfriend are what damned him, Anthony had accusation too but they were able to keep him on the team. What people also don't seem to have noticed is that somebody from the club leaked their plans to reintegrate him to the media in order to stop the club from going forward with it.The YeyeMan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:21 pmYeah it's a different situation. Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
That Roy Keane wasn’t standing guard in the bedroom is no excuse and absolute casuistry. The moment video footage was shared with the watching world, he was finished, as far as the stellar career he was supposed to have is concerned. Nike have dropped him and seemingly lack strong leadership too.
As a public personality of a particular hue, he has a duty and obligation to uphold certain standards. The sword of Damacles hangs lowly over the heads of all of such ilk. Patiently they wait for the “gotcha” moment. Foolishly many give it to them. United could’ve had Cannavaro, Churchill, Bonaparte and JJ Dessalines clad in captains’ armbands, it makes no difference. Greenwood was only ever being ushered out of the door, the delay was merely a matter of how.
Myriad clubs needed a forward, in the EPL and further afield, were all lacking leadership? Sadly, Mason climbed into the oven and cooked himself. That he still has a career is a privilege many don’t get. For far less, might one add. Jermaine Jenas recently sacked and more than likely gone from punditry for good for a text message. What of the Police Officer sacked for wolf whistling at a cracking pair of bibbly bobblies?

Like he sat Jonny Evans, Van Persie, Ronaldo, Dwight Yorke, Rooney, Nani, Anderson......? Evans, RVP and Ronaldo were specifically accused of rape, Evans was even arrested. None of these guys were cleared of charges, club concluded they were not guilty before Fergie played them. Fergie is pragmatic enough to know Greenwood will be running his socks off like a maniac every game for the manager. Afterall, isn't he still playing football today?? He can play in Spain, France but not in England?? Bottomline is Mason has never been found guilty and the two investigations cleared him.kalani JR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:32 pmFergie would have sat him the moment the photos and audio leaked.felarey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:53 pmOnly happens when you don’t have a real manager. Just to be clear - he wasn't cleared. The charges were dropped because the woman decided to no longer co-operate with the police. Man United's internal investigation was a farce - the evidence was there for all to see.felarey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:47 pmAfter cleared charges, club conducting their own investigation and concluded he didn't commit the original offense. He can play in England, it's just that every team has evaluated that it's a PR nightmare not worth the risk. There's a big difference between accusations like people like Bissouma or Anhony recently had and images and audio of these things being released. Greenwood was not found guilty but that was on thanks to the girl deciding not to cooperate, not because he was cleared.felarey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:23 pmLike he sat Jonny Evans, Van Persie, Ronaldo, Dwight Yorke, Rooney, Nani, Anderson......? In civilized society, you're innocent until proven guilty. Cleared, dropped, dismissed etc. in judicial speak are practically the same. The accused remains innocent and not guilty. The boy left Utd, not for his house but to Spain and now to France to play football where feministas abound and is now making babies with the said woman. The only loser here is Man Utd and it's all on junior aka Ten Hag.The YeyeMan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:30 pmJust to be clear - he wasn't cleared. The club assessed the evidence and concluded he didn't commit the original offence. This was after the charges were dropped/cleared/dismissed. Mason is an innocent man today. What more does a club manager need?? Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Sorry, it’s hard to conceive Ferguson endorsing the forfeiture of hundreds of millions in commercial revenue to retain a “smack my b*tch up” 18 year old with a petulant girlfriend. Hardly. Ferguson is on record as saying Ravel Morrison was amongst the best players he’d seen and when his off the field antics contravened the “Man United” mantra, he was gone. The fact of the matter remains, it was Greenwood vs UK media and a continent wide uproar, no amount of Sir Alex would’ve saved his United career.
One would wager, Greenwood could score a thousand goals in Ligue 1, he’ll never play for England again. Not least without a braless riot. Leadership? Nike have not re-endorsed him, leadership? There will be a thousand more Mason Greenwoods, quite simply, it wasn’t worth the risk.
Palace have signed Eddie Nkenke for 30 odd, is he better than Greenwood? Wasn’t even in the reckoning. Chelsea have gone in for Jhon Duran, Duran Duran and just about anything that moves, Mason Greenwood being the exception. Leadership?
From a point of reason, removing Greenwood from the glare of the British public was the best thing for him. Again, that he still has the opportunity to make a handsome living doing what his ability allows him to is an absolute privilege. For context, a Dr in the UK has been suspended for using his wife’s student Oyster card. Another for protesting climate change. A police officer sacked for wolf whistling, a rising star of punditry sacked for text messages between two consenting adults. Far from a lack of leadership, United have saved Greenwood from the ruin he had voluntarily walked towards.

Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Many a young Marcus Blackwood is sitting in Feltham today having failed to disprove such claims or much less. On the topic of “leadership”, one would urge any parent to warn their sons of the peril of such innocently, innocuous interactions with the female of the species.
That being said, Greenwood is gone, the very best wishes to him both in his public and private life. United have been thumped at home, Casemiro run roughshod and Rashford barely run at all. More relevant meats for discourse. How long before Harry Graham Potter Hogwaltzes through the door?

Bottomline is Mason has never been found guilty and the two investigations cleared him.kalani JR wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:32 pmFergie would have sat him the moment the photos and audio leaked.felarey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:53 pmOnly happens when you don’t have a real manager. Absolutely shocking decision.

...it is amazing they still kept those older and fluffing guys, Casemero, McGuire, Erickson, Rashford.Coach wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 11:15 pm Many a young Marcus Blackwood is sitting in Feltham today having failed to disprove such claims or much less.
From their performances last season they said they have played their last matches for United.
Or was it the fluke FA cup win against mighty City that clouded them?

Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Liverpool's first goal is Exhibit A of why AWB should not have been sold. Mazraoui (an attacking FB) was on the halfway line IN FRONT OF his midfielders. He left a massive space on United's right which Liverpool exploited to score. Bruno Fernandes (an attacking midfielder) was left scrambling trying to fill in as an auxiliary RB to cover for Mazraoui who was scandalously out of position. AWB (a more defensive and conservative RB) would not have left that space vacant.
Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
The story of Utd, worst part was when he took off Casemiro and replaced him with 20 yr old Collyer. How he'd wish he had a McTominay on the bench instead. Imagine having your tomfoolery exposed so early in the season. I didn't know how to pronounce the name Gravenberch until Saturday, now I do. He simply took control of that midfield, thought I was seeing Lothar Matheaus in disguise. No challenge in sight, Ten Hag said he had to take riskswiseone wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:16 pm Liverpool's first goal is Exhibit A of why AWB should not have been sold. Meanwhile Ashworth is starting to sound like Junior's hypeman instead of changing the lock on his office door after Saturday. No browny points for these so called football people yet.
