- Man City conceded 44 league goals (they didnt have a defensive midfielder)
- Chelsea conceded 43 league goals (they had 2 defensive midfielders)

Yet, Chelsea has not bought one defender this year. Man City has already bought 2.

More so, in terms of personnel, Fofana, Colwill, Badiashile, Disasi, Chalobah and Tosin will not even make the City bench. And I am not making this statement in a bad way, just trying to give you context here.
